Following “Operation 1027,” the MNDAA expanded its control far beyond the original Kokang Self-Administered Zone (SAZ), seizing vast swathes of northern Shan State including Hsenwi, Kunlong, Kutkai, and parts of Muse, Lashio, and Hsipaw.
