Over 30 KTLA troops defect to KNU

More than 30 Kawthoolei Army (KTLA) troops based around Hteekhee Town in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region, have defected to Brigade 4 of the Karen National Union (KNU), according to KNU officials.

On May 7, at approximately 2:15 p.m., the military deployed two jet fighters and a Y-12 transport plane to conduct a continuous 40-minute bombardment of Kyauktaw village and surrounding areas in Minbya Township.
